The high street is bustling with people and has a lot more colour than found in the residential area. Bunting is strung from building to building, shop fronts are decked out in autumnal products and decorations. Most of the store contents end up spilling out onto the pavement somehow, enticing passersby to come inside and have a gander.
On Hope’s way down the high street from the park (east to west) there are roadblocks barring her path. Past those is a modest market strung up with more bunting and lights, and beyond that, a big crowd gathered to watch the parade.
